第5回ワークショップ報告
公益財団法人国際高等研究所の平成27年研究プロジェクトの助成を受け,10名の参加者により,京都の国際高等研究所にてワークショップを開催(9月3日)した.本ワークショップでは,インタビュー調査,およびアンケート調査の具体的内容に関する議論を行った.前者については,オーラルヒストリーの一次資料となることを目指すことで合意し,後者については,人工知能研究の多様性を捉える尺度を作成するための議論を行った。
第6回ワークショップ報告
昨年に引き続き,科学技術社会論学会(第14回年次研究大会・総会)にて公開ワークショップを開催し,異分野の方を交えた議論の場を持った.「アカデミアの役割」「規制と責任の在り方」など,幅広いトピックについて議論を行い,人工知能と社会に関する議論の幅広さを再確認することができた.

The newsletter reports three AIR activities during September to November 2015.
1. Report: 5th Workshop of AIR
On September 3rd, the 5th Workshop of AIR was held to discuss contents of interview and a questionnaire survey. We agreed to aim our interview to be used as oral history data. Also, we discussed contents of a questionnaire survey to create a map of AI researchers’ diversity.
2. Report: Interview
On September 18th, we interviewed Shun Tutiya, a professor at National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation, Japan. The interview data will be uploaded soon.
3. Report: 6th Workshop of AIR
On November 21st, we held the 6th Workshop of AIR with 9 presenters at Tohoku University. The workshop was open to the public and about 30 people participated. The workshop started with talks from organizers, Arisa Ema (science and technology studies), Hiromitsu Hattori (multi-agent systems), Naonori Akiya (ethnomethodology) and Hirotaka Osawa (human agent interaction). They introduced inter-disciplinary activities of AIR. After that, 5 guests provided topics from various perspectives: Akio Yajima (Japan Science and Technology Agency) introduced AI-related funding projects; Koichi Takahashi (RIKEN/ Whole Brain Architecture Initiative) introduced artificial general intelligence (AGI) research at present; Tomohiro Inoue (Macroeconomics) showed a result of simulation of AI impact on the society; Yuri Nakao (Fujitsu Laboratories) introduced business perspective towards AI research; and Yusuke Inoue (public health/ medical ethics) suggested impacts of IBM Watson introduced to medical diagnosis.

- Building up common linguistic platform to discuss AI inter-disciplinary
- Considering AI impacts step by step
- Cautious or positive to AI development
- Regulation and Responsibility
- Data processing and publicness
- About future researches
